Wide Bore MRI: Precise Results

The Wide Bore MRI combines the qualities of an open and close Bore MRI.
Get exceptional image quality contributing to high precision diagnosis.

Trusted Wide Bore MRI

Wide Bore MRI ( Magnetic Resonance Imaging ) is also called the Open Bore. It combines the qualities of Open Bore MRI and Closed Bore MRI, as it has enhanced comforts like an Open Bore system and high-quality images like a closed bore system. Moreover, it has wide space inside the bore area of the machine with a 70 cm bore opening to accommodate patients of any size. It can hold up to 550 lbs. (249.5 kgs). Usually, it takes forty-five minutes or an hour to complete the MRI procedure, but with the help of this new wide bore only takes fifteen to twenty minutes. Also, it is less time-consuming than an Open MRI. Moreover, It helps to make claustrophobic patients comfortable and relaxed.
A typical closed-bore MRI scanner has a magnetic strength ranging from 1T to 3T. However, the image quality of the closed wide bore MRI is better than the open bore MRI. It is because the magnets employed in the closed bore MRI are stronger than those in open MRI. The closed wide bore MRI is practically different from the traditional MRI scan. The system includes magnets and uses radio waves to create a clear image of the vital internal organs of the body.

Benefits of using Wide Bore Magnetic Resonance Imaging

3T wide bore MRI is known to deliver clear imaging compared to conventional MRI. There are several benefits of using this closed wide bore MRI in hospitals:

Brain MRI

During the brain MRI, we make patients change their clothes, make them feel comfortable, and lay them on the table.
After the patient is relaxed, we will position the head coil over them and send them into the scanner when they feel comfortable. Also, a head coil will be present on which the head will be resting to obtain high-quality images.

Shoulder MRI

Wide Bore MRI is used to assess shoulder injuries. In the shoulders MRI, the patient’s arm is first positioned, then the patient shoulder will go under the scanner, and we will get the images. This technology uses radio waves and a powerful magnetic field to create a high-resolution image.

Knee MRI

By conducting a knee MRI, the doctor can clearly understand the problem and the treatment related to the knee. In addition, the knee MRI is the shortest MRI as compared to the other MRIs. During the process, a special knee coil is placed on the patient’s knees, and only the knees go under the scanner.

What Happens During Closed Bore MRI?

Closed bore MRIs are more effective in producing better quality imaging. It is because the diagnostic method uses magnetic fields to create these high-resolution images of the body. However, the strength of these fields increases as the number increases. Therefore, 3T wide bore MRI offers the best quality images, making it better for the technician to detect the problem.
Although the closed MRI images are clear, the process can cause discomfort and anxiety in some patients. As a result, some patients think that closed bore MRI might not work for them. There can be two major reasons for that:
However, the closed bore 1.5 t wide bore MRI services offered by AQMDI are reliable and well-known to deliver clear imaging results. We have been offering trusted diagnostic and imaging services for more than ten years. Our patients are served with compassionate care and the utmost medical treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is closed wide bore MRI?
Closed wide bore MRI is an advanced MRI used to detect internal body images. It uses a magnetic field and radio waves. The images created by this MRI are of high resolution, helping better interpret diseases.
How long does a closed MRI take?
Closed bore MRI uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create a clear image of the internal human body. The entire process takes 90 minutes to complete under field professionals.
Are closed MRIs better than open?
The closed MRI is known to deliver better results than open MRIs. This is because they produce higher-quality images that help detect the problems in the patient’s body. In addition, the results produced by closed-bore MRIs are more accurate than open MRIs.
What should you not do before an MRI?
Before getting an MRI, the patient must remove all metals, dentures, jewelry, and other things on their person. Also, it is requested not to put on any deodorant before the test. The patient is also advised not to consume liquid or food before the test.
What does a closed MRI mean?
The closed wide-bore MRI uses radio waves. Closed MRI has been in the diagnostic field way before the origin of open MRI. It is a capsule-like machine (hence the name) that creates high-quality, detailed images of the patient.
